I would unplug……then switch on to make sure the power is drained completely…..swictch off….plug in and switch on.
    Hopefully this will help.

That sounds like it’s stuck in firmware update mode. First thing I would try is, switch it off at the side and press the remote button a few times. Nothing more technical than that the remote key might be stuck down.

Let us know how you get on…

    hi stafford
    tried that
machine at the moment when powered off
then switched on at the side starts boot message then jv 33
then the f/w messages at start of thread
the green light is on and you can shut the machine down with this but not start up again and the green light is slowly coming and and off

    weird

OK. Probably the next thing to do is try actually upgrading the firmware. Do you know how to do that? You need the Mimaki FWUpdate tool and an appropriate ROM file. Obviously if you are to attempt this it is at your own risk as there is definitely scope to ‘brick’ your machine if not done correctly.

Let me know if you need a firmware version, I have a few to choose from.

    No probs.

I think this sort of thing is left to the techies I’m afraid. It’s actually not a difficult process to do the firmware but there is definitely room for damage to be caused.

    Best of luck.

How did you get on with this, Derek? It’s always good to complete a post.

    hi stafford

it came back on line after restarting a couple of times
and was fine for a week
    then it went again
turns out the firmware was corrupted so reinstaaled and checked over so fingers crossed all okay now

    derek
