Does anybody know where I can find out more about the different inks from Mimaki, currently we are using LUS150 in our JFX200 but I see there are LUS100 120 170 200 350 availible and wondered if there was documentation explaining which one is best for say vinyls and why and the main differences between each one.
I have found data sheets but this just tells me how smelly it may be not what media it was designed to print on.

    Kind regards

    Russell.

Hi Russel. This is something I’ve been asked about a lot lately by my customers so doing some digging myself. From what I hear from the other engineers, LUS-150 is the ink of choice. Many have LUS-120 because it’s a lot cheaper but I’m told that without the optional deioniser(?) it’s really not great. I can’t comment on the other types and don’t have any documentation but I’ll post again if I see or hear anything more.

We have the 120, was the newest ink when we purchased so asked for it as had hoped would be superior. Have had endless problems with it and still not 100% happy, if had to chose again would probably have gone with the 150 as have also heard that it’s probably the best one (for what we do any way)

It can be changed over to 150 apparently, Warren. We have a customer who has asked us to do it for him once he’s finished his campaign.

Hybrid advised against it as well as it costs thousands to do so [emoji848]

It’s not cheap, but it’s not thousands. The main cost is the capsule filters that need replacing but Hybrid make such an enormous markup on them. I think we can get them direct from the manufacturer for about a fifth of the price from memory.
