  • Matte adhesive on wall – HELP?!

Posted by lasercuts on 31 January 2008 at 13:54

Hi.. I am the designer at a laser engraving company that also offers signage (some we can do and some we outsource the labor and then do the installation)..

One of our customers wants there entire store wall painted excluding doors and windows but including the area that the security sliding door slides out of..that rounded metal shell-like…

Anyhooo, I am going to order two prints on two rolls of matte adhesive and cut them to suit and apply. The only thing is we have no idea how to put it on the wall… Can anyone give me a tutorial on applying matte adhesive to a wall.. how to cut, how to apply…what to use (water, pain-roller?)…etcetera…

You haven’t really given enough info for much help as there is no mention of what they will be applied to. Not sure what building materials are used in your Country but over here walls could be made of a number of different materials.
Best bet might be to apply to boards and then fix boards to walls.

Application is just like applying any other sort of vinyl.

It’s going onto a concrete wall that is painted with exterior emulsion paint..uhmm… It’s like a wrap (something like what they do vehicle wraps with but the adhesive goes on with water instead so it’s not air-free adhesive..it’s matte adhesive)…

Please ask me if you need any other info in order to assist… I’d really like to learn about this process…as alot of our customers ask us about this and I am certain it is something we can offer once we learn the basics…
