    Hi guys,

Over the last month or so my Mutoh Valuejet 1304 has decided to throw a bit of overspray when printing reds… this morning I did a head soak and a general clean up and now it’s 20 times worse. Totally not what I’d have hoped would happen.

Any ideas the cause or how to cure?

    Thanks as always.

don’ know about mutoh but think possibly static you printed any odd materials lately or new carpet. try to think what has changed, humidity etc. could be barking up the wrong tree. but that is what causes light misting.

That looks exactly like the problem with my VJ1614. It’s been going on for 8 months and between that and the car I’m now rapidly running out of hair.
Try printing with the droplet size as "large" rather than "variable". That has made it usable but not great.
It wasn’t the printhead in my case as I replaced it and it was just the same.

I would check there are no fine filaments of thread hanging down from the head that could be causing this

Has head or cleaning station being replaced recently?
Make sure head rests well on cleaning unit.
How is the nozzle check print?
