Markup on acrylic / Stainless steel, Dibond letters etc.
Hi, we’re hoping to get a job fitting some letters. We’re going to get them made up by brimark.
I’m going to factor in plenty of labour time, but just wondering how much markup ( percentage so we dont get into actual figures ) I should make on the letters themselves. ( will be getting about £300 worth of letters – cost to us.)
Nothing else but locaters are required as they already have a sturdy painted wooden backboard

The letters I get from Brimark I usually triple the price to include all materials and fitting, should only take an hour or so to fit all the letters with 2 people. The last one I did was £170 worth of letters at cost, £620 to the customer on that one.

What do you include in the "other materials and fittings" if I may ask.It depends on the location, height etc, on the fitting cost, again as I said to Rich, price it to make your own profit, and what you think your customer will pay,
Its just my opinion, but asking for a price comparison on the boards is a waste of time, some will say HIGHER some will shout LOWER
Do your own maths, that way you should not loose out and also be competetive.
just multyplying cost by a factor is very hit and miss

well with this i would charge the letters out @ plus 40% then i would work out time spent getting all files made and time to email etc etc then work out how much you need to earn per day or half day and put that on top

My standard gross profit margin is 40%. It’s pretty much the standard around here when you’re dealing with the major wholesalers. But, you have to be careful with your math. If you just add 40% to your cost, you’re not getting the 40% profit you need to run a profitable business.
So, If the letters cost you $100, you need to divide the 100 by 0.60. This will give you you retail price of $166.67 and the $66.67 is your 40% gross profit. If you multiplied your cost by 40%, you’ll only end up with about a 25% gross profit.
Beyond that, you still need to charge for your time and add any additional material needed to complete the job.Checkers
