Marking wooden pens – print options?Posted by Colin Crow on 18 October 2006 at 09:16Does anyone know of a trade service using one of the flat bed solvent printers for printing onto 3D items? I have a customer who has wooden pens and wants a company logo printed on them. Other ideas welcome too. Many thanks Colin (mod-edit) Colin Crow replied 18 years, 7 months ago 5 Members · 6 Replies

Hi Colin, not sure if this is what you’re looking for but met these guys at a trade show recently might be of use, got some nice stuff…

Thanks for the info on these pen companies but my customer actually makes the wooden pens himself. He was looking for decals or water slide to mark them with a company logo but I think he was put off when I told him how long it would take to waterslide 500 pens! I have now found someone that will "pad" print the pens quite cheaply but I would still be interested to hear from anyone who knows about these flatbed inkjets to see how they compare pricewise. Cheers

Laser engraving is by far the best way to mark wooden pens.
Major wow factor , the engraving detail can be held as fine a human hair. Laser engraving wont come off either , but its a single colour.I have a flatbed printer , the busjet , works well these days as a doorstopper, did work quite well at one time.
You have to pre coat the pens prior to marking em with this method but its real cheap to mark , a schlep to precoat tho.

I have just come across your request whilst looking for something else.
I can laser engrave pens with names and logos on them for you. I too make them myself and have lots of experience.Mike
