Making the most of window manifestation

Whilst manifestation is a legal requirement for glass of a certain size, it also provides a fantastic opportunity to add an element of design and style to glazing. The Window Film Company are able to create bespoke manifestation solutions, with Frostbrite frosted film an increasingly popular choice for both printed and cut designs.
The Buckinghamshire based Company were approached by a local educational facility who had a manifestation requirement that they wanted to make the most of. Following a refurbishment programme, the facility wanted to incorporate branding and other graphics into the manifestation and approached The Window Film Company for a solution.
Upon receipt of the artwork, it was a straightforward decision to recommend a band of Frostbrite frosted film with the design printed directly onto it. Frosted window film provides an excellent choice for print jobs of this type for a variety of reasons. Firstly, once applied, the film gives glass the appearance of acid etched or sandblasted glass, in turn delivering the contrast between the glass and the background that is required of manifestation. Secondly, Frostbrite film is the ideal surface or printing onto. The finished appearance is bright and vibrant, with the added benefit of letting good levels of natural light pass through the glass. The third benefit to this product is that it is tough and durable, making it suitable for high traffic areas and busy locations.
The school were able to provide a range of graphics, the majority of them silhouettes of various sporting activities, which were adapted for use by The Window Film Company’s in house graphics team. With a few minor adjustments made to the artwork, proofs and a sample panel were created and supplied to the school for approval. With the proofs approved, the print was carried out at The Window Film Company’s Chesham headquarters – the designs printed in colour onto a band of film sized specifically to meet the appropriate manifestation legislation. The film was then fitted by a team of The Window Film Company’s trained installers. The work took place at a pre-determined time and date, with the install carried out quickly and efficiently to ensure the minimum of disruption to what is a busy school.
Almost 20 linear metres of printed graphics were installed, meeting manifestation requirements whilst also giving the area a professional, stylish and welcoming appearance, as well as an element of privacy.
