I have done a few shop windows and shop front fascias in digi print but NOT laminated. How much of an issue is this?? This was when i first started doing sign work. As the work is in my local area it still looks good but am now scared after a little more education on laminating that what if the signs dont last as long as they should. can anyone enlighten me if i have done wrong or right??

I wouldn’t worry Stuart. Laminating is mainly for abrasion resistance so is not essential on a sign in the same way as it is in a vehicle. Laminating does provide some UV protection, but modern solvent inks are pretty fade resistant anyway.

Given the option to laminate or not – then it is recommended that you do laminate to ensure longevity. But no point in fretting about work you have already done as there’s not much you can do about it now. Chances are your work willl be fine
