    Hi All,
has anyone tried printing magnetic vinyl on the versacamm? had a salesman pop in today, and he left a sample as i wasnt here, but i cant see the difference between 6mm magnetic and this stuff?? If you have printed it what settings did you use, and were you happy with the results!

    cheers

Hi Dan, we got a sample of that as well, just waiting to get it on the printer to see if it will print, but iam not holding out much hope.

The firm told us that some of her customers put bubble wrap under it dependent on the type of printer you have.

Let me no if you do a print and i will do the same mate

hi just ran at three different profiles they all worked at differing qualities but used a profile i have for electrostatic vinyl whacked the pressure up to 220 and it cut it as well!! So far so good! it will reduce the cost of our magnetics dramatically as we normally print to vinyl, laminate, and cut manually!!

    cheers

Yeah, thats was my thort as well, i had to double take and ask her again.

I think she may be a little confused.

Can you put any pictures on?

Did you have any problems with it sticking to the metal parts of your printer?

    Hi Jus,
no problem with it sticking at all! Print quality is not superb, but i am waiting for the sales rep to get back to me with profiles etc so things might improve!!

I also looked at this and found it worked out cheaper to buy brown uncoated magnetic and just print on vinyl, then apply to magnetic and cut.

    hi ian,
have you had any problems with the vinyl lifting etc? we have two jobs to do with 8 x 5cm size and a 5cm round cut?

    cheers

    Hi Adam

Graphityp sell the printable magnetic sheet in 620mm width.

However i have been warned against printing on it with my Versacamm as the stuff is heavy and could put undue stress on the motors.

Because of this I always print and laminate my graphics then apply them to magnetic sheet. I would never print direct.

    Hi all
    just an observation:
will the fact that the mag sheet is passing over the heaters not result in the magnetic property of the sheet being degraded. In the past I have had clients come back with "non-sticking" sheets and after a few questions I find that they had been" stored "on heating radiators.
    Regards-

having now run 2 sets of 300 8cm x 5cm little magnet stickers, im not too impressed! Print quality not fantastic, cutting is not good and because of the pressure as it thick it causes motor feed error and the cuts drift! think im going back to cheap vinyl stuck on top!

no problems at all. We use a 5 year LG gloss vinyl which has a slightly more aggressive adhesive.

    Hi,
I also bought a roll from Grafityp last year. Not impressed as head of my versacamm would not raise and heads caught on edge of the material.

I now print and flood just to use it up.

    Cheryl 🙁
