  • magnetic panels can they be painted?

    morning people

    Ihave a customer that requires magnetic panels for his estate car, trouble is he wants them to match the colour of the car .I wondered if anyone has had experience of painting them. id cover them in vinyl but the cars the new type laguna, a deep red metalic so difficult to get a vinyl to match

    Hi Brian

    It may be worth just phoning around to try and get a match with vinyl.

    We had to colour code some mags a while back and the car was a kind of colour change/flip flop paint.

    We foung the exact colour at KPMF i think

    I suspect you would be lucky to find a vinyl that matched exactly. I don’t see why a paint shouldn’t stick but it would have to be very flexible as people tend to roll magnetics up for storage.

    I dunno, I’m guessing here a bit.

    If you do paint the magnetics which would be no problem, a little expensive maybe just make sure that a flexi agent is put into the laquer as this stops it cracking and allows it it bend

    Thanks folks…..ill try painting i think .Paul i use some stuff from KPMF but they dont have a colour that matches so it looks as if paints tha only option I tell customers to lay these things flat as i find if there rolled up they never seem to lye flat on the vehicles and can cause the air to get in behind them and come off.Regards Brian 😀
