On his Mac, he can format a disk as a PC disk. If he does that then saves his illustrator file as normal you should have no problem.

One small thing, Mac does not use extension, tell your customer to make sure that when he saves his file he calls it something.ai

saving the file as an eps [.eps] in ill 8 ensuring all fonts are outlined and any placed images converted to CMYK should be fine as well……a final select all convert to CMYK seem to help [gets rid of spot colours – if digital?] if re-sizing outline strokes…..

    Cheers

not sure if it’s all correct, however if I save in ill 9 I tend to do all these things for PC

May be of interest to the Mac/PC platform debate – we use conversions plus a fair bit

    Hi,

We use a program called TransMac that will convert PC to Mac, Mac to PC and anything in-between

    http://www.asy.com/

    Hope that helps

Use Transmac here as well, Crossfont from the same people is worth downloading too.

You can exchange Illustrator, freehand, pdf, tiff, jpeg or other app archives with no problem.

In mac record the CD as a mac/pc hybrid.
In pc as pc is ok. Mac read pc disks.

In both cases don’t use multissesions. You can get in trouble.

Fonts can change from mac<>pc, so you can trace the archive first.
Or add a paper copy to check all is ok.
