M. Grant : Coles Brewery, Gallery
Posted by Mike Grant on 26 June 2012 at 12:21Here is a little job I have done recently. All hand cut (the old fashioned way) from 5mm dark green acrylic with applied vinyl on stand-off fixings.
Barrel ends digitally printed to look like a chalk board.
The whole design is a bit bigger than I would have liked as I didn’t want to go over the ugly wood strip, but the customer is always right on that one. 🙄Shane Drew replied 13 years, 4 months ago 8 Members · 10 Replies -

I really like the barrel heads.
Nice work Mike.

Very nice Mike, eyecatching. Did you print to matt vinyl for the barrel ends? They do look good.

Thanks ladies, Lorraine, I used a matt laminate on the prints.

Nice job Mike! Love the look of the place, would make me stop and go in, for some reason! 😀

Good work Mike, looks good 😀
That must’ve taken you ages to cut it all out by hand. Time you finished building your CNC 😉

Phil, to be honest I really enjoy cutting things out by hand, you get a great satisfaction you don’t get from computerised machines and its cheaper than buying in. 😉
I had no satisfaction with the design as its from their bottle labels. The copy they gave me was rubbish as usual so I put in what I thought was a much better looking pint mug but alas as I said before "the customer is always right" I have no longer got the will to argue (chat.) with customers. I now give ’em what they want and take their money. 😉

Great work Mike, love the barrels.
I know what you mean about the customers! 🙄

Thanks Mike, matt laminate!
If I laminate all prints I do, I don’t suppose there is a need for a matt vinyl to be held in stock, just gloss & matt laminate. (-)Lorraine
