  • Low Energy Powder Coating ?

Posted by Graze on 1 August 2014 at 14:55

    Hi All
I’m having problems with vinyl adhesion (not printed vinyl, just black gloss) to a powder coated surface. Search results have shown up problems with some powder coatings being "low energy". Anyone had experience in solving this sort of thing?

    Hi Graza,

You can buy apolar vinyl which either has a very high tack or rubber adhesive for low energy surfaces , only digital vinyl though as far as I know , could you print the black and cut it out maybe ? Or mask out and paint ?

    Regards

    Thanks Cameron,

    what’s apolar?

Yes, I’m finding that almost all products are digital print vinyls. Hexis do a hi-tak matt black so we’re going to use that. Obviously the powder coated problem isn’t too much of an issue within the industry,
