• Loose panels

    Hi All

I have just been quoted a price for a ready cut panatrim frame and told it is for 5-6mm thick boards but I can use 3mm dibond but it will be loose inside and therefore knock around slightly 😕 😮

Is this normal practice or is there something I’m missing 😕

    Cheers

    Warren

    (sorry John)

you can get a Panatrim frame for 3mm but you don’t normally use a hanging strip. It also has a small face side try Novatrim 0117 9556463 ask for Gary,

Warren….I don’t know the size of this sign but it probably wouldn’t harm, sticking some 1" to 2" wide vertical stiffeners down the full height of your di-bond panels.

This would strengthen the sign up a bit but also bulk out the thickness to 6mm to stop it rattling around so much

    Thanks guys

I suppose I could pack it up at the back with strips of dibond to make 6mm, I just thought it was strange they said it is common practice 😕

    cheers

I use dibond in a 5/6mm frame quite often and just brace the back of the panel as Glenn suggested – never had any problems. Wouldn’t be as keen to leave it rattling about though 😕
