Does anyone have or can get wassatch rip or troop for this printer?

    Need some help quick please

Through the grenadier? Actually no I haven’t… great idea but a bit of a bummer when I get artwork already done from a client, that would mean a whole heap of editing wouldnt it?

Any additional help I can get kev would be truly appreciated

most of the time vector art work will not print correctly, i have just printed a swatch for another sign maker so he could match colours to a logo. Then when i printed the logos they didn’t match because they had used a different computer to design & export the file. With totally different colour management set, hence wrong colours. People design & match colours to a screen which most times will not match a printer. I explain that a colour printed to vinyl will not always match whats printed to paper and that if colous are critical to have a test print done first or specify a colours.

Wasatch may give you better colouring but i have found VW to be very good. Which colour intent do you use, Max impact etc these all adjust settings which take colours away from the normal.

What inks are you using, vinyls & profiles

Hi Kev, thanks for that. Im really just trying to get a better match, I can get it from my versacamm but the grenadier gives completely different results even though I’m using the same rip, but again thats understandable due to different inks, a 6 ink system over a 4 ink system. Etc etc.

The main problem I have is that vw is recognising my uniform as a completely different printer on the network so that may be part way to the problem. I have invested in a colour calibrater today, so when it arrives I will set up my own icc profiles for the printer based on the typical media that I will be using in it.

I also think there could be another gremlin in the system, I found today that if I turned down the magenta on the colour setting in vw I get a much more accurate color match, I mean literally turning it all the way down in vw.

Maybe, and I will find out next week when I do a flush, but I think someone has filled the light magenta tank on the cis with normal magenta prior to me getting the machine, that’s how it feels, as everything that has a magenta base seems to be more red than any other color, for example, purple is almost just a very deep pink.

I think some jiggers pokey is required over the weekend, as I’m changing over the ink set to match my vcamm. So if anyone wants to but 20 litres of solvent ink from me let me know lol…..

    Couple of checks

1/Test print what order do the colours print You can also tel from test print if you have correct colour in.
2/ Cut a strip of paper dip in ink tanks & let it dry you will tell the difference between M & lm
3/ What printer does it say it is seeing should be Pro 2 SC545EX as i think machines before that could not use VW. Print head colour order will confirm that as this changed.
4/ in service menu ensure inks are set to CMYKlmlc Eco solve max

Lets us no how you get on

I have a full version of Wassatch 6.4 I think? we no longer use it and would consider selling it if it is of interest. Wasatch is my favorite rip but does not play well with our current line up of printers.
