  • Looking for a thick lightweight material

    Afternoon all.

A customer has asked me what material Primark use for their internal hanging signs. He showed me a grainy picture of a blue satin sign that was suspended from cables attached to a false ceiling. It looked like it was a minimum of 20mm thick.

Does anybody know what it might be? I’ve thought of foam board, a wooden frame with signflex stretched over, but both these seem a strange choice.

Is their a material out their that the big boys use for this specific application?

    Cheers,

    G.

Probably something like foam core, does have other names but I can’t think of them just now but a google search for foam core board should throw something up. Most of the big paper suppliers will have it.

Is it Kapa Board or Kapa Mount or something like that, give Robert Horne a call as they have what you are looking for, cardboard outer with a light foam/polystyrene center.

Warren has it -10mm Kapa Board from Robert Horne. Foam core and white paper or some sort of very thin plastic on both faces. The paper version is difficult with vinyl text because application tape tears the surface off.
    Very light and quite rigid.
