  • Looking for a recomendation for some poster paper?

    Good Afternoon Folks,

Can anyone suggest a poster paper that dyes pretty quickly?

Currently we print around 150 A1 posters a month using our roland versacamm, but recently we added a take up system. Since adding the system I’m finding that the ink is not drying quickly enough and is sticking to the back of the poster paper and leaving a mess on the front.

We are using paper from Amari called ‘Trisolv Postart Blue Back’.

Dose anyone have any recommendations of other papers or hints on how i can get this paper to dry quicker?

    Mikey

I use trisolv 135gsm, print on high quality it dries pretty quick.

A trick I got off here. On the layout page choose custom cut, rather than custom roll. Enter the media width and a length slightly larger than the print.

Enter printer settings, and add a dry time, say 5-10 minutes, might need to experiment with that.

You will see on the layout that you will get x posters across each cut. The printer will print the first cut, then wait for the drying time you set before continuing to print again.

OK it slows down the print time, but does allow for the TU. I did 16 large posters the other week, and just left it running whilst I did some artwork.

Thanks for the advise guys, I have got hold of a fan and put that in place and am going to try the CustomCUT too and see what happened’s before trying that other paper.

I guess I have to try everything first seen as i have over 100 meters of paper in stock 😛

Thanks again guys, I’ll let you know how I go on!
