  • look for a fluorescent vinyl supplier?

Posted by Fabrice Menard on 27 September 2012 at 21:47

    hello all,

I am looking for a fluo vinyl which is as close as possible to the attached picture. Between yellow and green. It does not need to be the exact match but I usually use oracal 6510 and it is either too yellow or too green. Does someone know any brand that would provide a wider fluo color chart than the oracal one?

I looked at hexis, metamark, mactac to name a few but all the same color chart.

I will also try over the weekend to print a light green on fluo yellow to check but I would prefer to find one directly in an appropriate color.

I also look for months a fluo blue but no one seems to provide any.

try Grafityp and WmSmith for Ritrama. both do a decent range of florescent.

most if not all have dropped the fluorescent blue. however, oracal have a blue which is almost exactly the same shade as the florescent blues that "did exist".

we hop between oracal, grafityp and ritrama when these floor designs come up. its pretty much who has the most in stock at the time.
you can see the blue in this picture is not as vibrant as the other colours but it is as vibrant as the ones that used to be available.

thanks I will look at this.

A supplier told me that the fluo blue was discontinued because of very short duration in time of the color which I find strange (why only blue color?)

8/10 of the florescent available from most suppliers are short term for exterior work. i.e. 6-12 months.

I "think" Grafityp do a 2 year one and i know Oracal via Robert Horne do a higher grade one too, but dont know the life on that. there will be others but i dont know off hand, sorry…

you can buy higher grade again for the likes of traffic signs and the like but i doubt this is what your after.

that’s right, I don’t care about durability (few month is OK for this project), just need to match the color so far as I can. I think I will go with the printed yellow in green and look at the oracal standard colors for blue.

not being funny mate, but that green you have posted above looks pretty much like the off the shelf stuff used in the floor i posted. give smiths and grafityp a call tomorrow, you might be pleasantly surprised.
