    😳

We’ve just purchased a Graphtec CE5000 60. The cutter was demo’d to us during a loooonnnngggg day last week.

I’ve just unpacked the cutter, assembled and connected to the PC all fine. Now for my question:

When loading the vinyl, which side should be facing up, the shiny of less shiny side? 😳

We will get there, one day 🙂

shiny vinyl side up because that’s the side that will be cut by the blade.

    Thanks Lee.

I’ve only run the ‘test’ cut so far!

Unless you are using garment vinyl John – then it would be ‘dull side up’

    Welcome to the boards 🙂 🙂 🙂

Hang on – some of the top notch 3M materials (often packed as samples with cutters) have the clear film like carrier so it may not be obvious?

Its also true of the South Korean SMI technologies vinyls I saw at the show this year. These clear backing films are brilliant for accurate registration as they are not affected by humidity.

The easy answer is to peel back the vinyl, work out which bit you want to keep and make sure this is the side that should be UP!
