Ligthbox and tranclucent vinyl!

Depends on the effect you want.

Is the black to be nearly a ‘total block’? – If so the only difference you’ll notice is that the std. matt is very ‘matt’….and the translucents are probably satin finish.

Check your black with a light sourse behind – sometimes they show as grotty brown, others let no useable light through.

Translucent black will probably let some light through & be a very dark ‘grey’ in appearance.

Sounds like it’s a refurb – the customer’ll probably never notice (or know) the difference anyway.

Yes the black is nearly a total block, both versions.
I shall see the difference of the vinyls at my reseller later so if the colour difference is not too big I go for standard vinyl.

The customer is pleased if I can save a krown or two too for him.(Swedish money)

I more concerned of how the standard vinyl behaves on the acylsheet on a ligtbox.

You’ll get a bit more shrinkage than normal translucent vinyl (especially black). If that’s not a problem – then you don’t have a problem.

No I dont think that is a problem, the outer outline is the one that is cutout and noncloured.

Avery cast will show a mottled appearance when light is behind it. That is why translucent is so much dearer.

If you don’t want the expense of translucent, Oracal 551 or 3M series 50 is not as opaque as the cast materials, and I have used them on light boxes in the past to get out of trouble. They don’t have the mottled effect, but do suffer from a slight reduction in light emittance.

I´ll will check it in a ligtbox before I buy.
I met the customer between these posts and he said that he wants it more black than the translucent.

When I showed him the swatch he pointed at the glossy black but I said thats a "nono".
He accepted matte.
