  • light colors become stippled or grainy when printed

Posted by Robyn Dorn on 8 April 2008 at 06:39

Is it just me that has this problem?

Consistently I find that pale colors look stippled or grainy when printed. Am I alone? Am I asking a stupid question?

    any advice appreciated!

Robyn….you would be better introducing yourself in the say hello forum and tell us a bit about yourself……that way the members will be more inclined to help you out

You will need to give us some more information to enable anyone to answer your question……you haven’t stated what kind of printing it is…..what machine it is on…….what rip if any etc etc

    welcome anyway 😀

Robyn….not rules as such….you’ll just find that people will be more willing to help you if they know a little bit about you

It can depend on what program you are printing from as well. We were having problems with our Bizhub C500 doing the same thing with our Fiery RIP printing from FreeHand MX. One way we got around this was in the print settings we switched the line screen from "Dot" to "Line". This could be a RIP/Program independent setting though. It would definitely help if you gave us some info on what printer and what program you are using. It’s also possible that something is off with the printer hardware.
