    Hi All

The local Royal Infantry museum had two of it’s life size cut outs of 17th century soldiers stolen. I have offered to replace these FOC (was hoping to get some publicity out of it but has already got me some more work to do for them so good news there)

I was going to get them printed and laminate it on 10mm Foamex and then cut the shape with a jigsaw. I’m not sure if there is a better way but I also need to think of how I am going to make them stand and be secure enough to not fall over but also need to be moved inside each night (or will get stolen again 😕 )

I was thinking of a Foamex box attached to rear and maybe put sand bags in it that can be moved first then the cut out moved afterward (to reduce weight when carrying)

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

two soldiers standing behind holding the cut outs, that should stop the little buggers nicking them 🙂

seriously, sand bags sound good to keep them standing, as for being stolen, whatever you do they’ll find a way if they are desperate enough. They probably wont bother with sand bags, too lay to lift them out.

Just an idea, on the box, make it from exterior ply, with a lid and then you could put a lock onto the lid, and then they cant lift the sand bags out, just an idea. but that will of course only work if you are permanently attaching the cut out to the box.

They have to be made to be able to be taken inside each night, they forgot them outside the night they were stolen 😕

Just need to make sure the material will last and any ideas on how to make it stand up-right.

    Cheers

Make a base. Weld a steel upright or two.. Double tape to the upright. You can then sand bag the base down etc etc

Hi Warren, similar post yesterday regarding this. Do a search for Plex display and then rigid panel holder, it takes up to 10mm
