    Hi Everyone

I have recently purchased an LGsigns OKI5200 sign making system with rollers etc…
First of all number plates – I have now made around 20 plates and every single one has bubbles in it or does not line up central, how can i resolve this.
Rear plates – As the system can not print white where can i get a blank plate where the left hand side (badge side) is white and the rest yellow, I have used the one with the small white square but it is too small and impossible to line up.

I notice people talking about printing onto vinyl, is this possible with this system, if so where can i get the vinyl.

I must admit I’m starting to think this investment will not make me any money at all. I may have to sell it on if i cant get the hang of it.

    Any advise would be great.

    Hi there.

I have recently pirchased this system too and have to admit that at the minute it has its problems. My main issue is the rear plates. You can buy badges from LG that come on an A4 sheet which can then be placed on the yellow reflective. I have not used these myself.

The problem I have is that several customers have a border all the way round the plate. When the border is blue, I have yet to see a solution other than cutting a border in white vinyl and sticking it between the film and yellow perspex.

I am not aware of vinyl the Oki can print on although how would you then cut this to size?

Admittedly, I do not get many bubbles (if any) when rolling although I didn’t buy the jig that was offered with the system. I would guess your roller is with too slack or possibly too tight.

Hopefully someone can give us a few answers 😀

I find if you set the roller very light on the first run through that you have no bubbles, i screw the roller down a notch roll again and for a third time, used to have probs myself but worked through them and it works for me.

Hi all. Are you having problems with colour on your printers. I just brought the 5250 and the colours are very wishy washy on the acetate.

    Peter,
as i said on another thread, don’t set the printer to transparent, i use heavy card option. but play with the settings. The machine settings are tempermental to the environment that it is in. This can be hot or cold locations, humid situations and also you will get a slight difference if you do a long print run because the printer warms up and the ambient temp around increases.

    Hope this helps

thanks for all the support guys, i have managed to make a few plates without bubbles, but to be honest its more hassle than its worth, too many problems for me.

    Thanks again
