I attended this course last week in London and have to say it was a great experience.

In the past I have steered clear of projects with anything to do with LED’s just because it was a grey area to me. After attending this course I feel confident to push LED’s with my future jobs.

The course went through the features and benefits of LED’s over traditional lighting, power consumption, longevity, sizes and applications. Not only that we were shown how to wire these in both series and parallel and had a practical hands on later in the day.

Thanks Sam and Andy for a very informative day and hi to the others I met on the course. I look forward to posting my next project

    Hi Chris,

Was that the free courses they run? I’ve looked at these but just assumed it would be rather "sales" based.

    Is it quite hands on?

    Regards,

    Pete.

Yes this was the free course. No selling involved just good sound advice. Mind you having learnt what I learnt I would buy from them anyway as there are too many to choose from out there

The northern one is held at Applelec HQ, that being Bradford at the showroom site.

I have limited availability on this one due to a cancellation today.

Thanks for the feedback Chris. I think LED workshops are a great idea and something most sign shops should consider attending…
I attended a basic LED workshop some years ago now. We didn’t really use LED’s because i do not really get involved in anything unless i fully understand it. However, it was local, so i went along for the afternoon. Like you, I found that I learned a lot in a small space of time. Having a basic understanding how simple illumination can be incorporated into our day to day signage really does give you food for thought, and allows you to upsell on stuff you already put out daily.
anyway, I have on occasions used Applelec products and know how good a quality of work they deliver, so i am sure their workshops will be second to none.

What I would like to know is, if you and some of our other board members met up there, where the hells the selfies and group hug photos??? 😉 :lol1:

    Well done Applelec! :appl:
