  • Latex or Solvent – Which Printer? Advice needed, please?

    Hi To all

New to the forum, I am the owner of a design, print and web business and over the last few years we have been regularly asked to produce signage for our clients, which we have out sourced, but due to various reason we wish to keep some of this work in-house with the purchase of our own large format sign printer.

On the list at the moment is a Roland 540v and and a HP L25500 latex printer.

The type of work we do would be your pull-up banners, vinyl banners and and digi-prints to mount to dibond etc.

I am drawn to the latex machine, more for its easy of use and cleanliness and the machine may not be run everyday.

I would be interested in hearing advise from forum members who have both types of machines as to the pros and cons of each etc.

    Thanks in advance

What about a Roland with UV Ink?
Low ink costs, increased durability of prints, on board cutting etc.

    Hi

Thanks for the reply, do you have more info on the UV inks for a Roland?

Please see the following blog i created March 2014:
    https://www.uksignboards.com/topic60241.html

You will see Roland will now launch this at Sign & Digital next week as part of their Partner Solutions Program with the Lightbar. Which I think is a great move and will be having a look at the new machine next week myself. :thumbup2:
