    Hi all,

Probably a silly question but can’t seem to find an answer on search engines.

Can you laser through solvent based varnish without it harming the machine or leaving bad residue on the lens? Aside from it’s flammable so will obviously use the air assist, just wondered if anyone else has done it?

    Thanks in advance.

Doubt this would be a problem with engraving as only a minimal amount of material is removed on each pass. I have engraved plenty of varnished wood without trouble.

Cutting could be more of a problem and would definitely need air assist.

Cheers Colin. Gave it a try and looks good. Makes it so much easier to remove the smoke residue!
