have you used a flex-face system derek or is it what you say, tensioned banners?

just asking as i cant see how they have been tensioned from the pictures. 😀

look great though, what size are they, go on, gives us some feedback? 😉 :lol1:

    hi rob
system is crystal and tensioning explained here
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRqNBQneNOY
the two pictured were approx 20 metres by about 6 and about 10 by 6
we used c profile on this for the bend
nightmare but it worked out well
the fitting vidio is very basic the trick is chasing any ripples out to the ends and corners
we fitted another back wall about 30 metres by 8 high
also pictured boring black but heavy
these were in basil for the watch convention /sale
rumours were the rolex stand costs for the show £25,000,000

larger profile for outdoors and fitting strip for internal and external
these were in switzerland we were in germany the week before munich on this lugong one also fitted the vinyl to the right 👿 -6
with the experience gained we can more or less fit anywhere any size now

    derek

    cheers dave
biggest problem is getting client not to think banners (hemmed and eyed)
so we tend to call it tensioned fabric
good response when they see the finished job
after it first goes up like nora battys tights 😕

    derek

ahhh yeh, got you now mate. yes ive used this before. some years ago spirit displays brought it out. i used it to convert and old lightbox to a flexface type system using the spirit display extrusions.
like you, i found it aukward to work with, but did the job and looks great when done.
you should look at the tensioning extrusions that universal has started supplying. for life of me i cant remember the proper name. but they now sell a system that the old SignBaseUK sold. i have used this a good few times on huge sigange and works a dream. even wrinkles and so on are easy to get out as you can "crank" individual 6 inch sections tighter and randomly even when its all in place. even the smallest of wrinkles can be taken out by applying a little heat from a heat gun "waved" over the wrinkle "area".

These look amazing, especially the BT cyclists, would love to know how you done it, one of the best signs I’ve seen!
