    Hi Guys
I’m having a problem with my laminator. Wondering if anyone else has the same problem.
I load the machine with the laminate and put the rollers down. The laminate is flat and crease free at this point. When i start feeding the print through creases start appearing as the laminate is pulled off the roll and thus causing it to crease when its finally applied onto the print.
Could this be a heat issue or is the resistance set wrong?

    Help!!

I sometimes get this if the tension is not enough, it only takes a tiny amount but it can make all the difference, also check it’s all in line.

    Hi!
We used to have the same problem and I’m with Stephen on this one!
Try adding a bit more tension and that the vinyls are in line. You know if you added to much tension if the rollers stop rolling or the machine start to make weired noises.
As far as I know the difference between a cold vs warm laminator is that with the warm one you can laminate the print directly without having to wait for the ink to dry up properly.
PS Rob wrote a good tutorial with tips on how o make sure that the print enters the laminator correctly. Unfortunately I don’t remember the name of the topic. Try to find it, cause It may help you out.

cheers for the reply Steve, i figured it would be something to do with the resistance but as you say its a fine adjustment. Maybe i’m being too heavy on the adjustment. I think i will give it another trial and error effort

Be very careful not to put too much tension on the laminate.
If the rollers are too tight then you will stretch the laminate without knowing it. We had this problem once where after a few months the laminate was shrinking on the print by 10mm all round We found that the laminator was too tight on that roll.

    Hi Marshy

It might seem like a daft thing but are the laminate and the print around the same width?
If they aren’t then that can cause a difference of tension across the width, causing wrinkles to appear as it goes through.

Always better to cut them to the same rough size.

    Regards
