    hi all,

I m thinking of buying laminator, but I don`t have a clue which one. Some suggest cold some hot and some even liquid. I would use it for sp-540V prints (outside prints, wrapping…) . And I don`t have a lot of space in my workshop. So, could anyone point me to right direction or tell me what are differences between them(good and bad things ). And btw we are talking about company with 2 employers 😛 , so budget is a bit limited.

    Sorry, for my bad english.

There is a few out there. I have an ezy taper, and as the are a sponsor here, you can check them out on the main web page.

Emseal is good too, not sure what sells in your part of the world though. The UK guys may have a better idea of whats available over there.

We’ve just bought our first laminator and I’m not looking back yet.

It has hot and cold rollers both top and bottom. We’ve laminated application tape (like a dream) mounted, backed up clear prints, laminated.

Although I’m not an expert I’ve been told that the heated one are better for laminating as the heat can apply the laminate clearer. Also apparently hot laminate is cheaper than cold!

I have found that for laminating digital prints on vinyl, then cold is best, the heat tends to warp the vinyl. Vivid do a good entry range of laminators at very reasonable prices.
