  • KPMF Gloss Black Marking Issues

    We have installed Gloss Black wraps on 2 Vehicles ( 1 x 2002 Focus, 1 X 2008 RS6 Avant)

We have been using KPMF Airlease wraps, and noticed considerable very small bubbles ( 2mm in size roughly ) after installing, also marking from the felt scrapers.

    My questions are:

1 – Does this settle after a few days?

2 – Has anyone else had this issue

3 – Do all the wraps from other companies do this?

    Thanks in Advance, Kieran.

Personally I think 2mm bubbles are actually quite big rather than small lol but maybe that’s just me, whatever size they are you shouldn’t really have very many at all once you have finished installing & post heated. If you do have a lot at that sort of size then it is unlikely that they will disappear completely.
Without knowing under what conditions it was fitted & how it was fitted it’s difficult to answer your questions fully, most problems are down to poor fitting & KPMF is not the easiest of vinyl’s to start with if you don’t have a lot of wrapping experience.
Squeegee marks normally come out with a bit of heat. What squeegee’s were you using?? Felt squeegees or plastic with a felt edge.

Had the bubble issue flooding coating too soon after a paint job, paint hadn’t outgassed or cured enough. Unfixable and never went back in, had to redo it.

Thanks guys, maybe it’s not 2mm, maybe around 0.5-1mm max, didn’t measure it.

Squeegee marks didn’t really come out with heat, but been assured from our fitter that kpmf does this and settles after 5 days or so.

We have a client in who is very demanding so this is a bit of a loose loose situation for me.
