    Hi All,

I’ve been looking into options to upgrade from the old Stanley knife and Steel ruler for cutting/trimming our media, such as roll up banners, pop up banners, and correx.

I was just wondering if anybody had used this product before

    http://www.keencut.com/uk/simplex

Other than this link, I can’t find many other reviews or video’s etc on this cutter, so I was wondering if anybody had experience of using it. I’d need to get the 2.6m model, and my main questions I’m wondering about are:-

    1. Is it worth spending a bit more and getting the Javelin. http://www.keencut.com/uk/products/cutt … velin.aspx
    2. Is it worth buying one of these cutters without the bench.
    3. If you don’t buy the bench, how can you protect the surface of the table/bench your using to cut on. Is it as easy as just using cutting mats, or would these not work as it would give you an even working surface.

I understand there has been plenty of threads on this subject so apologies for another one, but I’ve tried to research this as much as possible, so now really just looking for a few opinions.

    Thanks
    John

    John
I have had one for years,
I use it mainly for cutting foam and composite in small quantities.
I have a glass work surface, but the cutter will work fine on any cutting surface.
I dont have the table as I find it better to move the cuttter to where i need it rather than the material to the cutter.
the extra model is more accurate if you are doing roll ups but it depends on the operator!

For correx i would recommend one of these, http://www.jagsignsupplies.com/aqshop/c … hp?id=1338
for cutting and folding as an extra to go with the javelin

Thanks Peter, I think I’ll go for the simplex. Also, the correx cutting tool looks like its worth a go.

Are these fine going across flute on correx, or for only cutting with the flute?

    Thanks for your help
