    Hi there.

Just looking into using vinyl for graphics on aircraft, i run my own aerobatic display company and thought it would be good to offer my customers the option of having their name on the planes. most people paint graphics on for long term sponsorship deals, seems to me vinyl would be ideal for short / weekend deals.

Will have a browse around and then bombard you all with lots of silly questions.

i would have thought the same thing mate. long term you could just use a cast or good calander, short term use what you like.. budget stuff would work also.
one thing though… are these models or the real thing. if rea, you will have to watch the reaction cheap vinyl will have to severe cold way up there.. 🙄

    Tony,

If your doing graphics for planes you wont go far wrong with Avery’s new 900 series. It is fairly pricey but it is fantastic to work with over rivets, compound curves etc. and will last ages – think it has a rated life of ~12yrs. A good quality cast film like this should also be easier to remove without adhesive residue if you are only wanting to use for short term graphics too. If you use a removable/economy film on a plane, I think there could well be problems with it not staying put for long as Rob says with temperature changes and wind/rain/vibration/sunlight etc

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for that, the planes are real, I flew models as a kid but kept crashing them!
