  • Joining correx boards

Morning all, we’re building a set for a production of sister act and they want a stained glass window making. Can anyone advise on what’s the best way of joining correx sheets together? It needs to be 2440mm high which is fine but 1860mm wide so going to have to have a join in it. Was thinking of running a long offcut down the back of the join and fixing in place with the Glue Gun unless anyone else has a better idea?

    cheers folks

Sounds like what I’d go for too. Probably goes without saying but I’d split the panels evenly so the joint is in the middle/vertically in line with the flutes. Would clear tape on the front of the joint work?

Yeah I’ve just run hot glue down it and it seems to have held well, will leave it a hour or so to go off then get the vinyl on.
    cheers

Looks ok David, sure the customer will be delighted, of course Robert is a bit of an expert with stained glass so he would have made up the real thing :lol1: :lol1: :lol1:

LOL yeah, doesn’t look great close up been on correx but off stage with UV lights behind it should look fine (hopefully). They’ve got a tech rehearsal tonight so will soon find out…..

If it’s part of a stage set then it’s not going to be viewed from close up so should be ok.
