John Campbell is a master craftsman. He is on a nostalgia trip restoring and making neon signs.
He has a workshop at home where he skillfully handles glass tubes over a flame. Shapes them, puts neon gas inside them
and he calls it art. The end result makes the lettering and shapes look like a cavalcade of color, almost a rainbow in glass once they are plugged in, he says.

John restores shoe repair signs, service arrow signs, and many other old style neon signs, and has been doing this for fifteen years now.

He comments, "Some of the original signs are a little battered and weathered but I think they have a distinguished look.

Campbell is proud of his work and goes on to tell us "People also collect neon signs. Some even request i restore theirs, whilst others want me to replicate the original. I believe everybody wants to see their name in lights!"
