Jaguar IV cutting problem
Hi i have bought a Jaguar IV 61 and it came with the easy sign software. Now i installed it all ok and decided to use the USB connections, and it was bringing errors up when i went to plot like cannot open GCCUSB0. So i have decided to buy a USB to RS232 converter and it has set it up on COM 4 which has now got rid out the cannot open error, the only thing now is it wont plot anything.
All the setting are the same on the com port as in easy sign.
Has anyone got any idea or help why its not plotting?
I am using a laptop that is runnig windows vista.

ok so looking through people are saying that USB is the better one to use.
So how come it is throwing up error messages like cannot open GCCUSB0, -

Generally you get a much quicker response if you take the time say hello and introduce yourself first, bit like walking into a crowd of people in the pub you dont know……..
Anyhoo, Ive got a Jag 3 which I presume you got from Grafityp and don’t use the USB option either. Its run from a laptop through a USB to Serial converter and cut direct from Corel. Not sure what software you are using so cant give you much help on that front.
Best bet is go back to your supplier and get them to talk you through the process, after all thats what they are there to help you with.

Yeah i got it from Grafityp have emailed them and they said they are getting back to me on Monday hopefully.

Just thought i would let you know that i have my machine all up and running now. I have Been playing with it tonight, but this easy sign software is not that easy. Graeme when i put the vinyl in the machine and edge it for some reason it does not measure it at 610, its only coming out at 589. Have I got to set an offset to something?
I would just like to say a big thank you to Grafityp for helping me get my machine up and running.

Might have measured between the two outer pinch rollers, thus giving you your available cutting width, bit like printable margins. Even though you are using 610 wide vinyl, you will never cut full width. I think a 700mm roll will fit through the machine……

the vinyl is 610, or thereabouts, but you need a margin for the rolllers.
Most plotters return a "cutable" width, which is the distance between the rollers, rather then the actual material width, you can expand this from the control panel, so the cutter will cut into the roller width, but only recomended if your material is absolutely square, and to be honest, only as a last resort.Peter

Cheers guys, that’s ok then as i thought i had a setting wrong as where i used to work if it had a 610 roll on you could cut 600-605 if it was running straight.
