    hi folks
Ive got a job for a construction company coming up to letter ther ivor williams trailer .Because the bodys galvanised i dont think vinyl would
hold that well, apart from that it would look a bit naff .my suggestion would be to put dibond panels onto the side and apply with double sided …or would it be better to rivet them on ? this is only my suggestion and im all ears 😀 😀

    Regards brian

ps bearing in mind that builders can be a bit rough with there geer would double sided hold ?

    Brian,
ive done quite a few of these, Never had any problems getting the vynil to stick, just make sure its cleaned properly. and if its not brand new, a rub over with a brillo pad will bring it up shiny.
Some colours dont look to good on galvanised, but you could always flood coat it, cheaper than dibond.

    Hi Brian,

We have just recently done one of these trailers for a landscape gardener, we used Mactac 9800 and everything was fine, we cleaned the galvanised and warmed it. The vinyl stuck no problem.

We flood coated the panels on the trailer the same colour as the land rover which tows it, metallic red!!
The graphics we then applied to the panels were matching to the ones we put on the landrover earlier.

I have to say mate that the job really does look the business on the road, I also thought the trailer may look naff but you would be suprised what a bit of colour can do to a bland looking trailer.

Hope this helps, i’d show you a picture of what we did, but I dont have one yet.

    Cheers
    Aaron.

Wash down, tar remover and meths, then another wash down. Trailer was fairly new though so it wasn’t in that bad a condition anyway.

    Good Luck 😀 😀
