I use it to clean everything. (Well not EVERYTHING) It doesn’t leave a purple stain behind like meths does.
By the way, does anyone have a supplier for Isopropyl alcohol, preferably in my neck of the woods? Or someone who delivers?

try rs components, they deliver nextday

Cool link 😀 Nice one!
Best kept secret though Nik, if you blend a water melon, add a dash of lemon and about 300ml of isopropyl, you’ve got a Bacardi Breezer :pink:
:police2: Warning: The above is a joke, the writer of this post cannot be held responsible should you actually follow his weird advice. There’s a good chance you could end up…. :hung:
😉
Cheers, Dewi

Hi
find your local supplier of screen ink should be able to get by the litre or 5 litre, for those who wet apply try a little drop in a spray bottle full of water makes a superb application fluid and aids removal of application tape.Kev

Damn good stuff, I use it on vinyl before putting it through the ColourCamm.
Good for cleaning brake drums and all bits covered in brake fluid as I found out last week (hot) :lol1:

There was a post from Print one stating that the type of isopropanol tht you get from the chemist is only about 50% pure and you should use the 99% pure type.
I got 5L from FIS Chemicals at Aberdeen for less than £20 (cant remember exactly how much)
Any supplier of chemicals to Industry should have I would imagine and much cheaper than a chemist.Goop

Just like to point out that what you buy from chemists is often “medical” quality isopropanol, very pure and ideal for cleaning…like heads on an Edge or suchlike.
I then buy 5 litre containers (normally in a box of 6) of Vinyl prewash, from a chemical company here, (that supplies the same stuff repackaged to 3M, with a hefty price adjustment, amazing what packaging can do! )which is what you can use to wipe down vehicles prior to application etc, and this is sold as isopropanol but containing 30-70% Isopropanol, not the same quality as for cleaning electronic components, but fine for the vinyl application etc.
Edit: Just read Goop’s post….funny thing that it was Gerber here (Spandex) that told us to buy Isoprop from the chemist and ask for pure “medical” quality as this was better for Edge heads than the 5litre stuff we had in the shop, the stuff i buy from the chemist here comes in 100ml bottles.
