Is there any point in ripping then printing?? on most rip software you rip the file then you print it. is there any point to this?? in versaworks there is an option to rip while printing which saves me ten minutes in waitng for the file to rip first. More of a curiosity question 😀 😀 😀

I always rip first so that I know there will be no problem while printing. I used to rip while printing but on big jobs I did have a few stop mid print with errors. (chat.)

Once a file has been ripped it can be sent to the printer to produce a print without any interruptions. On a low spec PC you would probably have periods where the printer pauses whilst the rip does its work and catches up with the printer.

Also with multiple prints – once the file has been ripped it should be quicker to output the ripped file to the print rather than re-rip it every time. Outputting a ripped file also frees up the PC to do other things such as surf UKSB whilst printing otherwise the Printer would keep on pausing.

😀 sorry mike, I meant on a faster one there will be less intereptions if rip while printing and its quicker to output to print with less chance of error’s if ripped first. got it! 😀
