Is there an industry stand for making Billboards?
Asked this question yesterday:
We have been asked to produce a 48 sheet poster, I know all the dimensions, splits etc but I need to know how much bleed to put on each individual 60×40.
Can anyone tell me if there is an industry standard for this?
We have since found out that you need to put 0.5" of print then 0.5" of white on certain tiles, we have been advised that this runs from left to right but our software wants to run it from right to left, does anyone know if this would be a problem for the fitters?

Can’t help with your question sorry but if these are your fitters then any difference won’t be a problem but if it is for other fitters then I wouldn’t take the chance, easy for them to blame you if things don’t go right if the graphics aren’t supplied how they are use to fitting them.

Billposters are a nightmare to deal with when the poster is not produced correctly. Trust I’m doing it 14 years now and have ten guys working for me. If you can get your hands on one do. All the media owners have spares lying around.
Sheets are numbered 1-12
Top sheets are 1-6
Bottom 7-12Sheets 1-5 bleed on the right
6 no bleed
7-11 bleed on top and right
12 top onlyTo get a better understanding
Sheet 7 under laps sheet 1
2 overlaps 1 on the right
8 overlaps 7 on the right and under laps 2 on the top
They are always posted left to rightIt’s hard to picture how it’s fitted that’s why getting your hands on one is great

i do one a month some times two and my work seem to give me it done different every time lol. if the fitters re any good they will manage.
