    Morning,

Hope Christmas went well for everyone.

I have an intricate job for a customer early next year, the stickers are 10mm square and have three lines of tiny text on them, they print on white vinyl using a sticker printing machine themselves at the moment but are looking to colour code in line with their new quality system.

So, is there a vinyl that I can print on using lithographic inks?. I tried a little smudge on some 9800 and it wiped off but saying that I didn’t let it dry at all.

    Any help would be appreciated..

Kind regards & a happy new year

    Hi,
Your best bet would be to screen print using vinyl ink, tiny lettering might be a problem though.

    Hello John,

I have an offset litho machine and the small text wouldn’t be a problem on that as I would make a plate, I was thinking of cutting the 10mm squares on the cutter then putting them through the offset etc..

Does it need to be external durable – if not litho print onto crack back or similar (readily available from normal paper suppliers). For cutting, a cutting form can be used for kiss cutting. A litho printer may be able to advise better.

    We are Litho Printers

If it doesn’t need to be externally durable, print on ready cut Labels, on sheets of A4.

If it needs to be externally durable, print and cut using a solvent ink printer.

    Thanks for the reply guy’s

It doesn’t need to be waterproof as these are going onto chips inside a medical device,

No suppliers I have contacted or researched stock10mm square white labels,
let alone 10mm square labels in other colours, the sample the customer
supplied me is vinyl, and I think it’s printed via a ribbon machine, so it looks
like I may end up just supplying them with some A5 sheets of different coloured vinyl cut to match the sheets they currently use in white.

But I was wondering whether I could use a printable vinyl on a litho machine?.

    Thanks
