    Hi all,

This may be a silly question, but does anyone know if you need a special vinyl for use on boats?, this boat is use in fresh and salt water.
If so, any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

3M 7725 and 7125 cast is the only vinyl on the market rated ‘marine grade’ as far as I know.

Most tapes, in the warranty fine print, will only warrant the material within a certain distant from the water line. 3M warrant the product ‘to’ the water line.

Oracal here will not warrant the material to have excess water on it constantly. I assume it is the same there.

I’ve been using 3M for years on boats. Have used Avery too, but have had several warranty claims over the years. Never had a claim on 3M for a boat in 12 years.

This does not give the warranty, but it overviews the product if yu’ve never used it before http://www.3m.com/intl/br/comunicacao/p … e_7725.pdf

    Hope that helps
