  • is there a coloured holographic material available?

I’ve had a man in this morning who wants me to use what he described as ‘orange coloured holographic vinyl’. Has anyone ever come across such a material or is the chap getting a bit confused with his terminology?
I was under the impression that holographic material always had a silver/chrome background.

    Steve,

There is a company in Hampshire that specialise in that type of stuff, funnily enough they trade as Holographic Vinyl, you should be able to find them on the web, I know my sister has had all sorts of colours from them with various lens effects.

Thanks Frank I’ll get a colour swatch from them, I still think the chap is confused with his terminology, we’ll see.

    They do 2 orange shades.

Doro tape supply colour changing vinyl (like on some cars) in case that’s what he is thinking of.

Hexis do one called pearlescent HP5500 under their specialty range.
They have vinyl called holographic H8000 series but that has rainbow colour changing particles or circles in it.
I use the pearlescent HP5500 all the time for thermal printing on to. Gives great eye catching results. It’s smooth, foil based non textured nor has glittery particles in it, just a rainbow effect like on proper holographs (i.e credit cards etc.)
