is the product acudome availabe in usa?
Posted by John B on 8 March 2008 at 20:52Hi all!
Awhile back I had seen Richard Urquhart post some pics of some Volvo domed badges he had done. They were VERY nice looking!!
Does Richard check in here often?
He mentioned he used a product called acudome. I have access to something of the same name in the States… see link
http://www.rdsacuflow.com/acudome/index … og8_0.htmlIs this the same product?

Thanks Rob.
There’s a lot of suppliers for doming resin…. I’m less concerned about the Acudome product doing than job than it doing the job RIGHT!
These forums are a wealth of info. and anyone involved with printing signs or anything related should use these forums as a reference.
Rich having used the product and achieving the results he did would make me test the Acudome product here in the States (of it is indeed the same) and possibly switch from the current brand I’m using.
The brand I use now is good…. but it should always be anyone’s goal in business to improve if possible.
I’m new to these forums but their value for me is excellent because many of you have tried products that I may be interested in or currently use.

hi John
i have only used the acudome product, there are many but I would think there all very much alike having said that I have nothing to compare with, this resin sets very well and its so good at flowing out to the edges and you can also get great build. I apply the resin allow to flow out and then after doing the 20 or so badges then flash over the top with a small flame gun and the bubbles pop to the surface leaving a high gloss with no imperfectionsRich

Thank Rich!
You guys really respond quick!!!
Does the product you use look like the same as advertised in the link above?
We have some shelving units set up that we use with our epoxy domes with light bulbs inside to heat the inside area up. Do you use a similar system or just let them air dry and not try to rush things?

the carts look the same. Re heat or air dry I have noticed I get better results if I keep humidity down to a min, this is very easy for me as I have an old infra red heat lamp I use to use for drying 2pack car paints, we just set this up and allow the heat to do the rest

Great Rich!
Thank for your help.
How long does it usually take with the infrared heat lamps before they are "touch" hard? Hard enough to ship?
