    John, had mine sine ’96.

Only probs I have had is new roller wheels as the others failed in ’02.

Never had it serviced before then, so asked the technicain if he could do it while he was there (it was going to cost me a 1 hour service call, and it only took him 15 minutes to do the rollers)

You need to clean all the runners that the head goes up and down on, I think he used metho or IPA.

As far as the cogs go, no oil, just silicon spray. Oil is a no no on electronics because if you use too much it can short circuit or over heat the circuits.

If it is seizing, one of your cogs may have a flat spot. Spray the runners with silicon spray too.

Where do you live? I used combined technical services in Brisbane, they are very good. Bit worried tho when the technian turned up in a brand new Lotus 🙄

    Hope that helps

there are no real servicable parts on that machine and certainly non that require oiling.

take off the cover which covers the blade holder area and make sure the carriage has not come loose from the wire. only holds on with an allen stud and a star washer.

over than that just hoover it out, make sure there is no build up of dust in the gearing cogs and check that these are tight too.

check the nurled pinch roller bar for excessive play, this sits on 2 bearings which you might see evidence of near the centre of it.

thank you very much for writting.
    i,am from redcliffe…north of brisbane.
sorry i take so long to reply…but i am a very slow, one fingure typer
and a bad speller. its good to talk to someone in the trade that doesn’t
come from my area. there is a lot of jealousy with all the sign people
around here…..so its hard to make friends…..i mainly do a lot of custom style clipart and pics on
things…….i am mainly more a artist than a sign maker…i do a lot of
vidflex t-shirts to,…and a lot of airbrushing……the local tattoo man just started airbrushing so things dropped off a bit in that field.
at least he didn’t buy a cutter machine .

trying to lurn how to put a photo up like you.
    seeya…….johnny
