Someone told us that we can have a tape made that you stick on a perspex sheet, heat gun it, and peel the carrier tape off. The pattern stays on the sheet and is supposedly very tough.
Anybody heard of such a thing?
We need to put a patterned border of about 1 1/2" on perspex which we then form into a soft shape.
This is an outdoor use item and we paint the inside so the pattern is seen from the outside.

I’ve googled everything I can think of and only find a decal type system used in ceramic mugs and of course transfers of the type used on T-shirts – these won’t work because they need excessive heat for our application and you need to pre-coat the perspex. UV Sublimation printers also need pre-coating and screen printing is way too costly for our product. Lastly there are rub-ons like the old Letraset kits but I don’t know if they’ll take the UV. Any ideas???? 😮

I know on race cars that have plastic screens there is a black border round them, its not paint… I have some work to do on one, I will have a look tomorrow and see what I can find out for you.

Exactly what I’m l 😮 king for, Nick!
I really appreciate it if you can come back with an opinion. On cars it’s called a FRIT and it’s ceramic over glass. It’s the look I’m after but on perspex.

Sorry mate just had a close look at the screens, but they are laminated so the black is in the middle 🙁

    😥
Did contact Letraset in the UK to see if they have a solution.
    Thanks anyway 😀
