  • Is Mulberry the best place for vinyl?

Posted by ian king on 28 April 2006 at 00:37

    Hi guys and gals !
First post, so i hope its in the right place , etc, etc/

I have just started, and have been kept very busy, I am currently using Mulberry design and print for my vinyl. Had a good look over the net for better/cheaper/reliable suppliers but not got a lot for my time!

Just wondering if there were any other suppliers in the UK with a better selection, I am getting asked by customers for holographic/carbon/reflective vinyls.

Thanks for any help in advance!

there are "lots" of vinyls out there…
what brands of vinyl does your supplier offer?

    Cox
    Amari Plastics
    Spandex
    Europoint Display
    Grafityp
    Victory Design
    Wm Smith
    All Print Supplies
    APA
    Metamark
    Coburn

    the list goes on….

for prinsmatics and decorative types Coburn is king on the range, but these guys offer a good alternative too. http://www.holographicvinyl.co.uk/

    Thanks for your reply,

My supplier deals with "Ritrama" "Rimark" its ok but i am sure there is better out there The white is quite nasty it seems to mark if it rubs lightly against anything!

I have seen Hexis mentioned a few times in posts, have you any experience with them?

    cheers

    Hi

m300 3 year mat, 400 series 5 year gloss, l100 series, 3 year gloss, a translucent series, and an etch series,

the 3 year gloss works out at about £1.80 a meter@ 610mm wide.

    Is that avrage price wise?

I have used Mulberry when I first started. Found that the Hexis range is a better vinyl IMHO. Im sure there are far better out there, but in terms of comparison and prices the S3000 range out performs the Ritrama. Its easier to weed, cuts better, better adhesion, and seems more "robust" if thats the right word to use here.

Plus with their white, you get a blue contrast backing as opposed to a white backing (making it difficult to weed in comparison).
