is it possible to purchase double thick vinyl?
Hi I’m wondering is it possible to purchase double thick vinyl, at the moment I use oracle651 but need it to be double the thickness, it’s for making lawn bowls stickers so just normal vinyl is to flimsy for joe blogs to use, I have tried putting clear vinyl on to coloured vinyl but its not the easiest thing to do when its still on the backing paper,then i have to put it through plotter to cut it into 70mm circles, would i be better using more pressure to do this or use a 60degree blade how, do you guys go about putting clear vinyl or protector film on to a print to protect it as this may be the way to go

Not sure I follow you here John, what do you mean when you say it is to flimsy?? Thicker vinyl might actually be more difficult as it’s fitting to a bit of a curve.
Putting clear over the top of coloured should.t be a problem at all & you shouldn’t have to put it back into the plotter to cut.
Cut the coloured vinyl & clear first with registration marks, weed, line up registration makes & either run through laminator or hand apply on the bench……..simplesKPMF do a vehicle wrap vinyl thats 100 micron, thicker than 651 but obviously more expensive

Use a laminator, or ask a local firm if they can laminate it for you.
If you don’t have access to a laminator, float a layer of clear or coloured vinyl on using the wet method (sorry Rob!).
Cut everything twice and mount it layer on layer, I do this for a particular job where I cut the same job ten (yes ten) times, then manually mount all the layers together to obtain a 800 micron thick sticker….it’s a pain but it works fine.
