I’m using Troop designer and I have done a couple of jobs recently and have a problem with the colours.

I set up a line of text in red, and use the box tool to do an underline, again in red. When it printed, the underline was a darker shade of red than the text although the same red was used from the palette. SO, what I did next was to enter a cap "I", rotate it and stretch it to use as an underline and viola, it prints the right colour…….WHY FOR IT DO THIS?

I’m not familiar with your software. However, it sounds like somewhere in your media profile settings that you have different profile characteristics per type of graphic object. Typical example would be bitmap versus line art. In your case, I would have thought the "underline box" be treated like the text (both line art).

    Hope that helps,

    Hi Dave
not familiar with the software, but could you convert the text to curves to overcome this?

Tried that but it makes no difference. The programme seems to do what it wants. 🙁

Would it be feasible to select everything and then render to a 300 dpi bitmap?

Not really Rod. I like to keep it really sharp and rasterizing it seems to blur the edges…..or is that just the hangover that does that 🙂
