not seen that before Shane, i’ll be interested in trying it out though, i use a lot of reflective, for a number of different applications (even sign making!), this might be pretty good for me if the cost is ok!
cheers.

hi i know that 3M have a similar product. See a complete vehicle wrapped in it. Very nice. Because of the thickness of the ink laid down it is able to light it up at night.
Very nice stuff but you need to have the work for it in my opinion. Will appeal to a certain client.

iwant to wrap my new ride in black, ready for the printed logo to go over, this could be pretty cool to wrap in black reflective, how weird would that look, glowing along the road!
any idea who stocks it over here?

You can order it from Europoint Display, but they don’t hold it as a stock item yet.

maybe we could practice wrappin me van in it at the Roland course…. if the horrors of removing light reflective are not true in this stuff as it claims…..could you imagine removin that stuff from all over a vehicle if it was the same as regular light reflective!!!! youd just want to stick it in acid and repaint (<(

You’d have to check your road laws there Hugh, here, its illegal to have white reflective on the rear, and red reflective on the front. Same with lights on trucks and stuff.
Black reflects orange I think, would look spooky though :lol1:

hi Shane,
i’m not sure what the regs would be for black, i currently use it for other purposes, it’s very odd too,
unlike a lot of reflectives, which will appear to glow fro many angles, ie.. the light source can be coming from 12 o’clock, and people can see it from 9 round to 3 o’clock, black will only reflect directly back to the light source.
i currently have some on my fishing rod tips, it is illuminated by an led headlight, i can see it lit up, but someone standing just 2ft to my side, cannot!!
the other thing with black, is the colour, when viewed from a distance, it’s a white looking colour, but not anywhere near as bright as a white or regular colour, the closer you get, the darker it gets, going from white, to a golden colour, to brown, to black when you’re a couple of feet away. very cool and very strange!
i think because of the way it works, i could probably get away with it, as you would only see it if the light source is coming from you, and bouncing back at you, from an angle it appears golden brown, or doesn’t light up at all!!
i’ll post some pictures in the portfolio pages to demonstrate.

lol, on lucy’s laptop, she was only home for a few hours before heading back to work at 10pm, then i got stuck into a film, couldn’t be bothered to go back to bed, so working on finishing a few quotes and a couple of small signs. i’m always more productive in the evenings!
just ordered the new computer 😀

I’ve got a roll of black reflective which we used to use for one particular customer.
It’s supposed to reflect back white but, in reality, it is a sort of creamy colour.

bring it down to sign uk and you can show me how to wrap an old merc in it!
😀
i guess maybe diferent manufacturers blacks reflect different, i currently have some LG (nikkalite don’t do black, or t least europoint don’t stock it). the brighter the light, and the more in line with the light source you are, the brighter it seems to look.
