  • is anyone going to attend The Sign Show 2008?

Posted by Peter Normington on 5 June 2008 at 23:24

I had an email inviting me to register, for this years show, which I believe is the first.

Did anyone else? and if you did are you going, or considering going?

I registered a couple of days ago, but whether I’ll get the time to go remains to be seen. If the kids are back at school by then I’ll have more chance, and will be the Weds. 3rd.
    We could have twice-yearly meets!

I’ve known about this show since last year, quite surprised many of you hadn’t heard of it?

Looks like it’s going to be more like Sign UK used to be and will have a traditional sign making section featured. There they will be mixing old with new, should be really good.

I’ll be going and if it’s as good as I expect I’ll probably stop going to Sign UK.

Trouble is, even though I enjoyed Sign UK this year it was too digitally orientated and had too many huge machines on display, I guess it’s getting too corporate for me…..after all I’m still just a ‘one man band’!

So I hope this will be a show that goes ‘back to basics’ a little and recognizes there are still some people out here interested in, dare I say it, plotters, brushes and paint.

I’ll be in Rome on those dates but i’m seeing if I can change the dates slightly but doubt it because there isn’t many days that you can fly to Rome unless I can find another route 😀

One sign exhibition a year is good enough for me, doubt if the sign show will have anything more than sign uk, and probably far less, as far as products are concerned, so for me its a no,
But will wait and see what you guys report on the show, and not the social event!

I’m sorry to those of you that have not received the email invitation.
We like to think we have contact details for as many sign makers as possible, but obviously we have missed a few.
As Rob said, you can find out a lot of information on the web site at http://www.thesignshow.co.uk
This is the best place to register attendance.
Also keep an eye out for the next issue of Sign-Link as it will contain an 8 page supplement dedicate to The Show.
We welcome all feedback from sign makers, so please do let me know if there is any thing in particular you would like to see at The Show.
If you want any further information please contact me via this site or email me Erika@thesignshow.co.uk
I hope as many of you as possible will be able to make the September event.
